ABOUT SEEDS OF HOPESeeds of Hope is a major fundraising team for the Wildwood Soup Kitchen and Wildwood Food Pantry. It is made up of about 15 volunteers representing various churches and Temple Shalom with no paid staff.
Each operates entirely by volunteers. Each sustains itself entirely through community contributions Wildwood Soup Kitchen serves 110 lunches daily to walk-ins and delivers to 140 homebound on 4 delivery routes Served 88.000 meals in 2015 Sends 125 snack packs each Friday to Wildwood Elementary students Wildwood Food Pantry Distributes food to eligible recipients in North Sumter Co. Distributes 15-100 lbs. of groceries (based on family size_ twice a month. Distributed 220,000 lbs of groceries in 2015 to 14,000 families. Our major fundraiser is an annual series of concerts by local entertainers all donating their time and talent to raise both food and money. |
SEEDS OF HOPE AT UCC AT THE VILLAGES
UCC at The Villages collects food and money donations at our "Drop and Drive collection. Members of the community drive up to the front of our church and "drop off" their donations to support the Seeds of Hope. This drive is typically held twice a year.
